Almost a hundred cyclists took to the roads on the Plum Bikeaway last weekend – the last event of this years’ award winning Plum Festival.With the 52 mile Purple Plum route by far the most popular amongst cyclists of all ages and capabilities – almost 3000 miles were cycled around the Worcestershire countryside.
Tony Haines – Chair of Bikeaway Ventures, the organising committee of the Bikeaway said
“ we are truly grateful to everyone who took part in this years’ event- raising valuable funds for local charities including the Pershore Unit of St John Ambulance and the Evesham Vale Community First Responders. Even this years Plum Princess and her attendants took part in the ceremonial ribbon cutting alongside Bikeaway Ventures President Henry Sandon MBE and then Princess, Emily Mathias aged 8 went on to ride the course with her family”
